When I started planning an engagement session for this fabulous young couple, they mentioned that because they would be moving out of the country after the wedding, they were hoping I would capture the feel of Ottawa in their photos.
Not only was Parliament the obvious place to start, but the sun was in the ideal position for us to grab this shot of them with the Centre Block and the Peace Tower in the background.
Thanks to my assistant, who graciously carried some of my gear, I was free to get photos of the couple as they progressed along Wellington toward the next location. I'm super fond of this 'connecting the location dots' shooting style because I think it introduces a spontaneity and interaction with the environment that can be challenging to find when shooting statically in one location. Here the couple watches as an artist works on a section of the Wellington sidewalk.
