Now that the wedding season is just about wrapping up for me as we head into a new year, I thought I would take the opportunity to play a little catch-up on my blog.
First up, a wedding I photographed in May at Greyhawk Golf Club.
I shot Kayla and Jessie's engagement photos in Wakefield, totally fell in love with their goofiness and humor and was definitely looking forward to shooting their wedding. Looking back at my notes for my initial meeting with them, I can find scrawled in my own illegible writing, the words: 'elegant' and 'country' -- two words that turned out to describe their wedding very well.
One of the really great things about photographing a wedding at a golf course is that they normally have a lot to offer visually. At this wedding at Greyhawk Golf Club we had lots to play with: the rolling fairways and greens, dense lush grass to lay in (see below !) and, invariably, deep blue skies.
Above, a bridesmaid bravely rescues a boutonnière that fell off one of the groomsmen and onto the green. I think a golf ball landed on the green about 10 seconds after her return !
These bouquets were actually pretty hefty ! Crazily enough all of the ladies caught their bouquets without incident.
